Well, it’s Winter and it might be time to dust off the slow cooker, or buy one because it’s going to save you so much time and it’s going to cook you dinner every night while you do other things on your To-Do List. Here are some super easy and yummy slow cooker ideas for your family.
LASAGNE SOUP
You Need:
500g mince
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 jar pasta sauce
Lasagne sheets
1 cup of chicken or beef stock
Garlic, grated cheese, herbs, salt & pepper
What To Do Now:
Pop the mince in the slow cooker, then add everything on top, and mix it up to make a wet mix. Break up the lasagne sheets, and add them to the mix in also. You can cook it on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours. If it’s a long day at work you can add the lasagne sheets 30 minutes before you intend to eat it so they don’t turn to mush.
SLOW COOKER CHICKEN TACOS
You Need:
3 large chicken breasts
Soft wraps or hard taco shells
Can of kidney beans, can of corn, salt, pepper, garlic Mexican flavour spices
Large jar passata sauce
Grated cheese
WHAT TO DO NOW:
Add the chicken breasts to the slow cooker, pour in passata sauce, canned beans, garlic, and seasons with flavours you like. Cook this on slow for 4 hours. Pull out the cooked chicken breasts and shred the chicken breasts. Lay out the hard tacos shells or soft tacos wraps, and add shredded chicken, corn, grated cheese, and lettuce. You could make enchiladas, burritos bowls or tacos with the chicken mix.
